Timeless Art, Endless Stories
Create, Imagine, Inspire
2025 Program
At Seedling Sun, creativity has no limits. Through our Art and Story Writing Workshops, young students are encouraged to explore their imagination and express their emotions through both words and art. From digital illustration to watercolor and creative storytelling, we believe that every form of art is a way to express who you are and that every student has a unique story to tell.
Our workshops are always growing and adapting, adding new elements that blend each student’s personal style with what’s current and popular in the creative world. This approach helps young artists connect imagination with reality, giving them a first-hand sense of how dreams can be shaped into something real.
Guided by our talented volunteers, students gain practical experience while building confidence and creativity. Whether painting, designing, or writing stories that come alive, Seedling Sun offers the inspiration, mentorship, and resources to help imagination thrive.
At Seedling Sun, art never goes out of style; it grows with every child’s dream.

Ballet Blossoms:
Free Dance Workshop
2025 Spring Program
For many young children in the local community who dream of becoming ballerinas, Seedling Sun volunteers made that dream a little closer to reality. Our talented and passionate instructor, Angela Mayer, designed beginner-friendly ballet lessons that introduced children to the beauty of movement, rhythm, and grace.
During the lesson, students learned basic ballet positions, gentle stretches, and graceful barre exercises in a fun and supportive environment. Laughter and music filled the studio as little dancers took their first steps toward expressing themselves through dance.
More than just a class, this first ballet lesson was an inspiring experience that encouraged confidence, creativity, and joy. It reminded every child that with passion and perseverance, dreams can begin right where they are. One step, one twirl, and one smile at a time. By the end, it was hard to tell who were the students and who were the teachers; everyone stood in perfect form, completely immersed in the shared joy of dance.
Dream, Design, Build!
Seedling Sun Robotics
2025 Workshop
After the great success of our first robotics lesson, Seedling Sun is excited to launch a new series of Robotics Workshops for students eager to keep learning and building. Designed for curious minds, this series helps students deepen their understanding of robotics while continuing to grow their creativity and interest in engineering.
Led by our talented young instructor, Daneil Xi, the workshops introduce more problem-solving challenges and critical thinking activities. Students will learn to approach obstacles like real engineers by analyzing, designing, testing, and improving their ideas step by step.
Through hands-on experience, teamwork, and exploration, this new robotics series encourages students not only to build robots but also to build confidence, persistence, and a lifelong love for innovation.

Creativity in Marketplace
Seedling Sun’s marketplace brings imagination to life. To support our free education programs, our volunteers combined creativity and entrepreneurship to design and sell handmade products that reflect our mission. From illustrated bookmarks and greeting cards to mugs, notebooks, and canvas bags, each item showcases the unique talents of our young artists and writers.
Recently, our team has taken these creations to local farmers’ markets, cultural festivals, and community events, where people are continually impressed by the artistry and heart behind every design. These experiences not only help fund art therapy programs and illustrated book projects but also give our youth real-world experience in teamwork, design, and entrepreneurship.
For us, the marketplace is more than a fundraiser; it’s a celebration of creativity, connection, and purpose.
New Art Therapy Project Using Shapes and Storytelling
Jerry led his team in designing a new project for the Art Therapy Program that combines creativity, storytelling, and basic geometry. The goal was to help children, especially those with special needs, express themselves through simple shapes and imaginative stories.
The team outlined the concept of a story called "The Shapes Town", where characters like circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles work together to build a beautiful town. Using line drawings, the team illustrated each scene to visually support the storytelling process.
During interactive sessions with children, the volunteers divided into two teams:
-
Story Team: This group guided the children in creating a narrative. They helped the kids write short stories by giving prompts and suggestions using shape-based characters.
-
Illustration Team: This team helped the children paint the illustrations based on the story that was developed. They supported the kids in choosing colors, filling in the outlines, and bringing the story to life visually.
Through this collaborative experience, children engaged in both language and visual expression, building confidence and communication skills while having fun with shapes and stories.

Stories That Bloom: Where Children’s Imagination Grows Through Storytelling and Poetry
Both the Houston and California volunteers from the Seedling Sun Foundation recently launched Story Writing Workshops with the goal of inspiring young students to transform their everyday experiences into creative stories through both art and words. These workshops encourage children to observe the beauty in their daily lives, turn simple moments into imaginative tales, and express their feelings freely through poems and stories.
By combining writing and illustration, this initiative gives students the confidence to think creatively, explore their emotions, and share their unique perspectives with others. The workshops have sparked a love for storytelling in many children, helping them discover that creativity has no limits when guided by curiosity and imagination.

Making Audio Books
Sending greeting cards and Donation to Hosptial and Ronald McDonald House
The holidays are a perfect time to thank your medical team. Seedling Sun Foundation not only donates greeting cards made by volunteers but also organizes kids to write heartfelt messages to doctors and nurses, decorating the envelopes with their favorite drawings and paintings. This is our way of showing appreciation for healthcare workers and supporting them as they help cancer patients in their fight.

Fundraising for Good Causes
Many thanks to the Old Pearland Farmers Market for letting us set up a booth yesterday. We had a lot of fun selling our holiday cards, bookmarks, and flower frames. We are very grateful for everyone who bought our original designs and crafts. This was our first time selling our products at local market, and the neighboring booths were incredibly supportive and friendly. It was a great learning experience, and we are looking forward to the next time.
